Notice of Hearing

Pursuant to K.S.A. 75-37,143(d), the State Building Advisory Commission will conduct an in-person public hearing at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Suite 1200, 12th floor, Eisenhower State Office Building, 700 SW Harrison St., Topeka, Kansas. The purpose of the hearing is for the public to have an opportunity to comment on a request from Wichita State University for construction management at-risk services for the Marcus Welcome Center Addition and Upgrades. The approximately 8,000 gross square foot addition will create a new entry point on the south side of the building and will provide a connection to the Innovation Campus and pedestrian mall. The project also includes an interior finish refresh of the public areas of the building (reception/lobby/lecture theater) as well as opening up the corridor outside of the existing event rooms to create a “history walk” to feature WSU artifacts from the WSU Alumni Center collection. The project construction budget is $3,200,000.

Check in at the front desk with security is required. Masks are required at all times in all areas of the building, including the hearing room.
