Friday, May 29, 2026
TOPEKA – Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab reminds anyone who plans to run for public office to file their candidacy by noon of June 1. Candidates seeking state, statewide, or federal office must file in person at the Kansas Secretary of State’s office, located in the new Docking State Office Building in Topeka, KS.
"As a reminder, candidates may file by submitting either a declaration of intent form with a filing fee or a petition containing the required signatures," said Schwab. "I appreciate all candidates who are willing to serve our state by seeking public office."
Kansans can view the candidate list at votekansas.gov. The list will be finalized once all filings are processed and confirmed after the deadline. The primary election will be held on August 4.
