SECRETARY OF STATE SCOTT SCHWAB ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF NEW ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION APPLICATION

Tuesday, September 20, 2022

TOPEKA – Today, Secretary of State Scott Schwab announced that a new and improved online voter registration application is now live. Kansans who want to register to vote or update their voter registration information can go to the Secretary of State’s election information website VoteKansas.gov or the office’s website sos.ks.gov.

The redesigned website is the result of a collaboration between the Secretary of State’s Office and the Kansas Department of Revenue. The improved online voter registration application is part of the Secretary of State’s ongoing election security initiative. It provides Kansans with immediate confirmation that it is an official government website.

The use of a .gov website address with “An official State of Kansas government website. Here’s how you know.” at the top of the website promotes security and helps Kansans know they are accessing a website affiliated with a government office instead of a non-governmental third-party site.

In addition to developing a more trusted site, the new website offers Kansans a streamlined experience that is more accessible via mobile devices. "This new online registration website provides more Kansans with the opportunity to register to vote and make their voices heard this election in the most secure way possible," said Schwab.
