SCHWAB ISSUES FILING DEADLINE REMINDER

Tuesday, June 7, 2022

TOPEKA – Today, Secretary of State Scott Schwab reminded candidates who are running for the United States House of Representatives, Kansas House of Representatives, or State Board of Education to file by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, June 10, 2022. Additionally, the deadline for voters to change their party affiliation prior to the primary election is also 12:00 p.m. (noon) on June 10, 2022.

“Because of redistricting, this year’s filing deadline has shifted for these offices. I appreciate those who have looked to my office or their county clerk for assistance and have been able to adjust and adapt,” said Secretary Schwab.

Mailed filings for these candidates must be received in the Secretary of State’s office by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on June 10, 2022. Filing fees may be paid by check, credit card, debit card, money order or cash. The deadline for a candidate to withdraw from United States House of Representatives, Kansas House of Representatives, or State Board of Education races is also 12:00 p.m. (noon) on June 10, 2022. A candidate may withdraw by submitting a signed and notarized written request.
