Kobach Opposes Increase in Annual Report Filing Fees

Secretary of State Kris Kobach announced his opposition to a section of Governor Brownback’s budget proposal, HB 2315. Secretary Kobach urged the Kansas Legislature to reject the proposed dramatic increase in filing fees for annual reports of Kansas businesses.

New Business Formations on the Rise

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach today released the Annual Business Formation Report showing Kansas business filing trends over the past ten years. The number of new business entities formed in 2016 was 18,147. That number broke the 2015 record of 17,298.
